 Please note that this app will ONLY work with iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. First generation iPhone and iPod touch are NOT supported.

Trail Track is a great companion for runners, hikers and walkers who want to keep track of their outdoor fitness activities. It uses the iPhone's built-in GPS to measure distance, pace, time, and burnt calories while it traces your route in real time on a map. Tap the screen at any time to get live voice audio updates about your current pace, time and covered distance. Trail Track has been developed in collaboration with a licensed personal trainer.

Trail Track will not only store all your activities for later review, but allows you to race against your past trails. Simply select the past trail you want to compete against, and tap the "race against" button.

 If you want to listen to music while exercising, start the iPod before you start Trail Track.

To get the best performance out of Trail Track, we recommend that you are outdoors, with a direct line of sight to the sky. Turn off wifi before starting the application. Unless you are continuously playing music using the iPod program, do not use the sleep/wake button on top of the iPhone to set the device to sleep. Setting the iPhone to sleep will disable the device's GPS.

 You can find news and updates about Trail Track at www.trailtrack.net. It is our hope that you will find Trail Track useful and entertaining. If you do, we very much appreciate if you write a review in AppStore.

Worked as advertised

This is a solid running gps app. Ran with a friend who had a Garmin and there was only a small difference between us... I think only because I stopped and went back a few steps.

I wish you could decide which alerts to broadcast, because the pace was wildly off the whole run (+/- 2 min/mile) until the very end, and that became annoying. Would be 5 stars otherwise.

Battery consumption was minimal after a 3 mile run. I don't like running with music, so I can't judge that with iTunes running.

was great at first

I'm not sure what I'm doing now that is making it difficult for this app to track my distance, but apparently, I've been running 30+ miles in 30 minutes lately. It seemed very accurate at first, tracking the distance of new trails I was trying, but recently it's been so frustrating that I've downloaded another app that I will try instead.

Love it...

Love it...seems to be right on the money most of the time. Just don't move until satlite finds your location.
